Tobias Herber
I'm a software engineer and founder from Austria, currently based between Linz and San Francisco.
What I Do
I'm building Metorial (YC F25), an infrastructure platform for AI integrations. We make it simple for developers to connect AI agents to external tools through Model Context Protocol. We work with startups and enterprises to get AI agents into production.
Before Metorial, I led technical development at Valicit, a blockchain ticketing platform in Abu Dhabi where we sold over 2 million tickets for artists like Travis Scott, 50 Cent, and G-Eazy.
I also built Weekrise, a calendar-based task planning tool, and Loopbound, a dev tool company. When I'm not working on these, I publish open source software on GitHub.
Notable Projects
Metorial - AI integration platform that connects any AI model to 600+ external tools and services. Built the core MCP infrastructure that handles authentication, scaling, and security for enterprise deployments. 3.7k+ stars on GitHub.
Valicit - Blockchain-based event ticketing platform. Led technical development, handling ticketing for major artists including Travis Scott, 50 Cent, and G-Eazy. Platform sold over 2 million tickets and processed 500,000+ ticket sales for a single metaverse event in 2023.
Weekrise - Calendar-based task planning tool that organizes to-dos by day rather than lists. Bootstrapped to profitability with over 3,000 active users.
Cargo - An experimental browser with almost no UI, focusing on minimal interface design and fast performance. Built to explore how browsers could work with less visual clutter. 242 stars on GitHub.
Metorial Platform - The serverless runtime engine that powers hundreds of thousands of MCP connections. Handles sub-second cold starts, per-user isolation, and stateful hibernation for long-running connections.
Metorial Index - Community-driven catalog of open-source MCP servers, making it easier for developers to discover and integrate existing tools.
